I treat Skylum LUMINAR, as an effects program for single photos. When I have to edit larger numbers of shots I prefere Lightroom.
A few weeks ago I have wrote posts about AI Sky Replacament Filter.
So far the AI Sky Replacament in Luminar 4 works guite well. Most photos look natural, if only using right settings and fitting sky.
Last Sunday I was on my scooter ride and as always I took some photos. The day was rather cloudy, the sky was gray. The orginal photo looks like this:
So I decided – to check Luminar AI Sky Replacament Filter. When the contrast beetwen sky and ground was signifent the result was acceptable.
But when I took to my darkroom RAW underexposed photo, with low contrast the AI algoritms were unable to fill the sky in proper way.
Yes, you are right, the photo is poor, exposition is almost -3EV. So I edited photo (Light panel in Essential section).
But even now the results were almost the same.
The last thing I did, was to correct the exposition, contrast, ect., and export the file as .jpg and then try again with AI Sky Replacament Filter.
Here is the result.
